A lot of the subjects of my artwork are houses and living spaces. I love how people can relate to and connect with these pieces and often viewers will share a story of a past memory that was brought up by looking at my work, and that is the most rewarding part of being an artist.
The piece above depicts a house at the end of a street I used to live on. I would end my 4:30am pre-work runs at it. There was something about the presence of the house at such a quiet hour, not to mention the fact that it is also such a familiar form of architecture that people all have their own memories associated to it. While a mass-produced, 70's spilt-ranch house is not uncommon or even the most interesting design, it triggers a sense of nostalgia that people connect to.
